Maison the Chanel latest haute couture collection, shown in the Gran Palais in Paris on Tuesday ,was the most iconic and stylish as fashion gets. By sculpting skirt into oval shapes and emphasizing slender hips, Lagerfeld
proporsed a new catwalk silhouettes. The inspiration comes from the sculpture of the spoon woman created by Alberto Giacometti in 1920.
The colour scheme of the collection and setting was an homage to British interior designer Syrie Maugham. The pencil skirt was blown out into an airy curve to give the illusion of a bigger buttom. There were narrow silhouettes dotted between the curves, which added to the sense of a refreshing non-uniform catwalk. High silver court shoes, and a single pearl anklet were worn by each model. As the collection segued into evening wear hips become less noticeable.Bella Hadid wore Halterneck black chiffon coat dress that flared gently from a raised waist falling into three tiers to the floor. Lily-Rose Depp closed the show, arm in arm with Lagerfeld in a gorgeous pink organza evening dress.
