Balenciaga: Shaping fashion will focus on his work in the Fifties and Sixties when he dressed some of the worl's most famous women, such as actress Ava Gardner and wealthy socialite Mona von Bismarck, and introduced designs including the baby doll and shift dress. Fabric samples and catwalk footage will be shown alongside more than 100 items of clothing and 20 hats with x-rays being used to show how the clothes were structured and how dress weights were used to keep them in shape.

While of the pieces are Iconic within they own right, the V&A also has a number of balenciaga pieces that have never seen before.

'Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion' will take place at the V&A museum from May 27, 2017 to February 18, 2018
